Instructional Technology Administrator

Dr. Jestine Mayberry joined the Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy administrative team in April 2018 as the Instructional Technology Specialist with several years of experience in technology and education. Originally from the great state of Tennessee, she obtained her Doctor of Education degree from Trevecca Nazarene University where she completed her dissertation on the interest and confidence in STEM subjects and careers for young minority women. She has also obtained a specialist and master's degree (Ed.S. and MBE) from Middle Tennessee State University and her bachelor's degree (B.S.) in business marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
 
As a former Girl Scout Director for underserved students in Middle Tennessee, Dr. Mayberry contributed to research for national STEM initiatives and partnerships with Dell, Inc. and Techbridge. Dr. Mayberry was also selected to attend and present on financial literacy best practices at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania for business educators . As a teacher, department chair, high school board member, and adjunct professor, she has received the following certifications and awards: DC Educator of the Year from the National Council of Women in Technology, DC Adviser of the Year for the Future Business Leaders of America, Microsoft Office Specialist Certified Educator, and Cisco CompTIA Certified Instructor. In her spare time, Dr. Mayberry volunteers with her church, University of Tennessee Alumni Association, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and the Junior League of Northern Virginia for various causes throughout the DMV area.
