2016 Bright Futures Scholarship Essay Contest Former MMBDA students who will be graduating high school this year are encouraged to apply to the 2016 Bright Futures Scholarship Essay Contest. The winner will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and a special invitation to the 2016 MMBDA 8th Grade Commencement.

Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy is a part of the national UNICEF Kid Power! Unicef Kid Power has partnered with Let’s Move! Active Schools to bring the UNICEF Kid Power school program to schools and students across the country in the 2016-2017 school year. The students of MMBDA in the 3rd through 5th grades received a fit band and are tracking their movements to support their good health and to help severely malnourished children throughout the world!
16th St. Celebration of Black History Month PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten students constructed a quilt to memorialize the many purposes of the quilt along the “Freedom Road”.
