Social Emotional Learning Coordinator

Rolanda Mignon Little, BA, MAT

Native of Louisiana, by way of No. Little Rock, Arkansas, 11th year in serving the District of Columbia Public Charter School, Mary McLeod Bethune, an IB World PCS at both Brookland and Takoma Campuses.


Rolanda earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Theater and a  Master of Arts in Teaching Psychology & Sociology from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. Served as a Bandsman for the World-Famed Tiger Marching Band and the Female Mascot for the Grambling Tigers, well known for Legendary Coach Eddie Robinson, and Quarterback legend Doug Williams, with the likes of theater classmate Erykah Wright, known as Erykah Badu. 

 

Rolanda is a member of Tau Beta Sigma Professional Band Sorority Incorporated, Pi Gamma Mu, the oldest and preeminent honor society in the social sciences, and a former NFL Bandsmen for the Washington Redskins and the Washington Commanders Inaugural Band. 

 

Rolanda has dedicated years to the field of education. With serving every role imaginable within the school community.From the classroom teacher to the administrative leadership team. Rolanda has been a constant source of support, inspiration, and guidance for both students and colleagues.

 

Throughout Rolanda’s career, she has been known not only for her deep commitment to academic excellence but also for the compassion and integrity with which she approaches every task. 

Whether leading a classroom in discussion, organizing school events, home visits, supporting fellow educators, or lending a listening ear to a student in need. Rolanda has left an indelible mark on every life she has touched. Rolanda’smotto is see a need and fill a need.

 

Rolanda embodies what it means to be an educator, not just a teacher or an administrator, but a builder of community, a champion of growth, and a trusted guide through the many chapters of learning and life.
