2016 Bright Futures Scholarship Essay Contest

Former MMBDA students who will be graduating high school this year are encouraged to apply to the 2016 Bright Futures Scholarship Essay Contest. The winner will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and a special invitation to the 2016 MMBDA 8th Grade Commencement.

CLASS Scores for Classrooms and Teacher Effectiveness surpass the thresholds established for the 2015-2016 assessments. School Readiness Consulting conducted Pre-K CLASS® observations at Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy PCS for the District of Columbia Pre-K Quality Evaluation on behalf of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).

Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy is a part of the national UNICEF Kid Power!

Unicef Kid Power has partnered with Let’s Move! Active Schools to bring the UNICEF Kid Power school program to schools and students across the country in the 2016-2017 school year. The students of MMBDA in the 3rd through 5th grades received a fit band and are tracking their movements to support their good health and to help severely malnourished children throughout the world!
