We have been learning about shapes, how to identify them and differentiate them. Scholars will need to use their knowledge to answer questions on the attached form. Due Thursday, November 12.

To support concepts related to "Chicken Little," on the unit website there is a reading of "The Monkey and Crocodile." Scholars are required to listen to the reading and identify the characters in the story. They will make a drawing and in a video describe each character. When describing think of how the character look, act and how they make you feel. You will find the reading under the "Chicken Little" tab at the top of the website.

Students have been learning about the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo who created over 200 paintings, sketches and drawings related to her experiences in life. She is known as the Master of self portraits. Students will create self-portraits, while considering the question, "What is one thing that is special about you?"

We will be reading "The Lion and the Mouse," to help scholars learn how to dramatize stories, we will be acting it out. Please make a puppet of a lion and a mouse. This puppet can be made of any material you would like. It can also be as simple or as detailed as you would like. Please take a picture of your puppets and make sure they look like the animals. For example, no green lions or mice with horns. Some materials you could use are: paper plate, paper bag, water bottle, piece of paper, part of amazon box, anything you would like.

Hello my Kindergarten friends! I will not be in class on Tuesday, instead I have two activities that you can complete independently and turn in next Monday, September 28. This will give you one week to complete everything and turn it in.
ELA:
Complete the following alphabet chart. Please make sure your chart looks like mine in the picture and is neat. On the left side of the chart write the letters A-E in upper/lowercase. On the right side of the chart draw a picture of an object that starts with the word. If the picture is not easy to identify, please have a parent label it for you.
Math:
Use this number chart to illustrate categories and order. On the left please write numbers in order from 1-5. On the right please choose a different shape and color for each number. Example: 1-blue squares, 2-red circles... Please use the picture of the chart to ensure it is neat and organized. It has to look like the chart in the picture. Scholars should write all numbers and make all shapes.

The nursery you presented in last week's assignment will be used this week. Please say the name of your nursery rhyme and recite it. Scholars should be the only voice in the video.

Our unit is nursery rhymes and fables, so this week it is up to scholars to find an example and share this with their friends. Scholars are to make a video of them saying the title of a nursery of their choice and say what they like about it. They are not required to recite it yet, just present the title and why they like it.
