8th Grade Latin Assignments

What is one thing you learned in this class that you will take with you to high school? Why will you remember that one thing?

Please submit final projects here! 

For the exhibition, as I mentioned in class, I will just need a single slide from each person/group which summarizes your project and explains what you did and why. If you have a slide in your project which already has that information you are welcome to use that. Along with the slide I need a voice over/video of you presenting your slide. A great resource for that would be screencast-o-matic.

Who is to blame for the insurrection at the Capitol? Was it Trump's fault or are the rioters solely to blame?

 What is one thing you would like to improve on this quarter?
 What is one skill you would like to develop/improve upon before the end of the class?
What type of project are you leaning towards (creative or analytical)? Why?

1. Where have you heard a reference to Roman mythology or culture in a modern piece of media (e.g. a movie, song, show, etc.)?  
2. Why would people keep talking about an ancient culture long after it’s time?
If you cannot think of a reference, focus on the second question.

Starting next week we will be working on a cumulative project for the quarter. You may either work in groups of no more than 3 or you may work independently. Let me know here who you would like to work with before next class so that we can begin right away! If you want to work in a group, comment who you would like to work with or send me an email with the names. Please note: both groups and individuals will be assessed the same way and expected to complete the same length of presentation.

We have read and compared both versions (movie and written) of Hercules. Using the text, movie, our class definition, the comparison worksheet and the attached video as a reference write 2 paragraphs answering the questions on the attached google doc. You may write on the document attached as well.

Please note: we will have some class time to work on this but the majority should be done independently. Feel free to use any of the attached resources to support you!

Please remember these pre-tests are a completion grade! Nothing is wrong with guessing and just trying your best. This gives me an idea of what we need to focus on.

This will be due Tuesday February 16th, feel free to work on it before that but we will be discussing most of the information on this in class tomorrow.

This quiz is due on Monday at midnight. You will need to work on this outside of class time. It is a matching quiz but I will give further directions in class.

As a way to get to know all about you, you will create a playlist of five songs you think best describes who you are. You can create your playlist either in google slides or in a youtube playlist. Going along with your playlist I need a description of how each song connects to you or your life. You can use the a google doc or the rest of your slides to include your description. We will go over this in class.
