Dear Mary McLeod Bethune Families,
With school closed due to snow, we know extended time at home can bring a mix of rest, stress, and a little cabin fever for both students and families. Please know that you are not alone — the Mary McLeod Bethune Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Team is here to support you during this frigid winter season.
We would like to warmly invite families to join us for a time of connection and care, where we will practice simple, effective SEL techniques designed to reduce stress, boost emotional well-being, and bring calm into the home. These skill sets are helpful for children and adults, and can be used throughout the winter months and beyond.
Together, we will focus on strategies that help:
-
Ease stress and anxiety
-
Manage emotions during extended time indoors
-
Strengthen family connections
-
Support overall mental and emotional wellness
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or just looking for new tools to support your family, we would love to share this time with you.
With care and support,
Rolanda Little SEL Coordinator
