Updated Traffic Impact Study

Dear Takoma Community Members,

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to you and fellow neighbors with an important update regarding the recent concerns raised about potential traffic impacts in our neighborhood due to the proposed school relocation.

In response to the valid concerns raised by community members, the school administration commissioned a comprehensive traffic impact study to thoroughly assess the potential impact of the relocation on local traffic patterns. The study will be conducted by Wells and Associates, which is the firm that completed the more limited Pickup Dropoff Study that was presented in January. Their goal is to provide an accurate and unbiased analysis, taking into consideration various factors such as current traffic flow, peak hours, and the potential increase in traffic volume.

This initiative reflects the school's commitment to being a good neighbor and responsible member of the community. The results of the traffic study will not only help the school make informed decisions regarding any necessary adjustments but will also provide transparency to all stakeholders.

We understand that traffic is a critical aspect of our daily lives, and we want to assure you that your concerns are being taken seriously. The school administration is open to receiving feedback throughout this process, and we encourage you to share any additional concerns or suggestions you may have.

Once the traffic study is completed, there will be a community meeting where the findings will be presented, and there will be an opportunity for open discussion. We believe that keeping the lines of communication open is essential for fostering a positive relationship between the school and our community. Data collection will begin this week and the traffic impact study is expected to be complete in early to mid-March.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to address these concerns and ensure the well-being of our neighborhood. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Marcus McKay at m.mckay@mmbethune.org.

Thank you for being an active and engaged member of the community.

Best regards,

Marcus McKay
